In view of the declared Lockdown to control the Pandemic COVID-19 by the State Government it is necessary to include the services of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary services to ensure availability of livestock health care services and food commodities of livestock origin identified as essential requirement, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service has notified that all related facilities including production units & dairy processing

The full text of the statement on COVID-19 as given by the Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha IAS is as follows:

“As at 5:00 pm today, a total of 65 samples of suspected cases have been sent for testing from the State. The results of 61 samples have been received and they are all negative. The results of 4 samples are awaited.

The University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India Secretary, Prof. Rajnish Jain had been issuing regular advisories requesting HEIs to take all possible preventive and precautionary measures to ensure the safety and security of students, whether on campus in hostel or outside, as we confront the COVID- 19 outbreak.

Deputy Commissioner Dimapur Anoop Khinchi, IAS has informed that all agencies engaged in farming operations and other agriculture related activities under Dimapur District are exempted from the lockdown.

DC therefore, stated that movement of farmers and other persons involved in agriculture activities should not be restricted in the colonies/villages.
