In view of the spread of Novel Corona Virus (COVID – 19) in China and other part of the world, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). In this connection, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir has issued order, banning the hunting of wild animals in Mokokchung District with immediate effect, stating that hunting activities increases the chances of contact of wild animals and wild animal products with humans.

            Therefore, any individual/group/organization found indulging in hunting activities will be punished as per the Wild Life Production Act, 1972.
