Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Phek (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GOI), organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Phek in collaboration with District Administration Phek, was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Phek on 8th June 2023 under the theme ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal’.

Deputy Commissioner Phek, Kumar Ramnikant IAS, while exhorting the students on Yuva Utsav-India@ 2047, said the timeline from 2022 -2047 has been taken as a challenge to see what India will be like after 25 years, and dwelling the theme ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal’ he pointed out the variation of providing good opportunities like education, job facilities between cities, the indifference of states performance, lack of communication facilities in parts of the country reflects that the country is not developed as a nation and therefore called upon the students that the changes of development and the dream of a developed nation depends on them to achieve. He also asked the students to remove the colonial mindsets inside of us as it hinders our country to develop and take pride in one’s heritage and not compare it with other cultures but carry the legacy to the next generation. He called for internal unity with no difference amongst one another to face the world and take a sense of responsibility as a citizen to contribute to society and towards the country for its growth. He said that if one’s vision and goals are clear without a doubt in mind and having a sense of responsibility, all the goals could be achieved by the youths of today.

DYO, NYK Nehru Yuva Kendra Phek, P. Rebecca Rangnamei said that Yuva Utsav-India@ 2047 which is part of a journey with Azadi Ka Amrita Mahotsav is held to share a common platform with a vision to bring all the students of Phek district under one umbrella, and the ‘Panch Pran of Amrit Kaal’ highlights the goals of developed India to remove any trace of slavery or colonial mindset but to take pride in our heritage and legacy, unity and solidarity and sense of duty amongst the citizens. She also said the event will help rekindle the spirit of patriotism and values of India's Freedom struggle amongst the youths, and celebrate the diverse culture and heritage. She said this event will progress from the district to state level and culminate at the National level and the participants in the competition include artists, writers, photographers, orators, and practitioners.

Students from various schools in the district participated in the following competitions, painting, poem, mobile photography, cultural folk song competition, and declamation contest. Various government departments also set up stalls to showcase their departmental activities to the students and an exhibition volleyball match was also held amongst the students.

Vice-Principal GHSS Phek, Kote-u Sekhami delivered the welcome address while Psychologist, DTCC, NTCP District Hospital Phek, Neiweii Losou Kotso exhorted on the Effects of Tobacco Usage and the programme was chaired by Khrukulu Rhakho.
