The initiative, titled “Extension of Class-room 1st Floor for Government Primary School at Kevijau Colony, Dimapur, Nagaland,” is aimed at strengthening the school’s infrastructure and providing an improved learning environment for students.

Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, NCS, speaking as the Chief Guest, expressed appreciation to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for its continued support to the people of Nagaland through various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare and community infrastructure.

Chang recalled his association with IOCL officials since 2023 and acknowledged the cooperation extended by the people of Kevijau Colony during discussions concerning local issues.

Highlighting IOCL's broader contribution to Nagaland, he said the corporation had undertaken several CSR activities in different parts of the state, including support to the health sector. He appreciated IOCL for its role as a responsible corporate entity and said the district administration and people of Dimapur looked forward to continued support in sectors such as education, healthcare and infrastructure. He also assured that requirements concerning public welfare would continue to be brought before the corporation for consideration under its CSR initiatives.

ED & State Head, IOAOD SO, Nitin Bhatnagar addressing as the Guest of Honour, said the corporation was committed to undertaking meaningful initiatives for communities in areas where it operates.

He recalled a meeting held around two years ago at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, where the need for development support in Kevijau Colony was discussed. He said he had then assured that IOCL would take up the request, and expressed satisfaction that the initiative conceived at the time had now been completed and handed over to the community.

The ED pointed out that Dimapur hosts important IOCL facilities, including its depot and LPG plant, from where petroleum products, diesel and LPG supplies are distributed across Nagaland. In view of the corporation's presence in the state, he said it was also its responsibility as a good corporate citizen to contribute to the welfare of local communities.

He said IOCL readily considers requests received from villages and communities in Dimapur and other parts of Nagaland, subject to its CSR guidelines and priorities. The corporation, he added, undertakes initiatives across sectors including education, healthcare, infrastructure development and women's livelihood and empowerment.

Emphasising the corporation's philosophy of giving back to society, the ED said IOCL's operations were sustained with the support of the people and therefore it was important for the organisation to contribute to community development. He reiterated that “Nation First” remains one of the core philosophies of Indian Oil and expressed his appreciation to the business community, elders, religious leaders, colony representatives and other members of the public for their cooperation and participation.

In conclusion, he expressed his special association with Nagaland and Dimapur and reaffirmed IOCL's commitment to supporting developmental initiatives in the state in the days ahead.

The programme included welcome addresses by HR- CSR, IOAODSO, followed by the formal handing over of the completed facility to the beneficiary institution. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the beneficiary representative.
